DragonFly Bark
For Hearth and Home
THE BRIEF
Dragonfly Bark began as a working shop; sawdust, lathes, and the quiet rhythm of a maker at the bench. Matt had the craft and a growing body of work, but not yet a brand that could travel with him: to trade shows, to homeowners’ living rooms, and onto a simple, trustworthy web presence. He knew he wanted a dragonfly in the mark. Everything else (name, look, site, and structure) was open for discussion.
Our role was to shape the foundation with a name and identity system that felt handcrafted yet enduring and a Squarespace site that let Matt’s craft do the talking with a clean, honest, and easy to maintain system.

Our Approach
We treated this as a brand-building primer: articulate the essentials, remove the noise, and create tools Matt could actually use. Our initial workshops focused on how his work is made, what makes it different from market competitors, and how he wants to be recognized at a glance. From there, we built a lightweight identity system and a site designed around texture, material, and process.
OUTCOMES
A cohesive identity Matt can carry from the shop to trade shows and into clients’ homes.
A site he’s actively adding to—new projects and an expanding store inventory.
Clearer self-definition: how to talk about Dragonfly Bark, what it stands for, and what comes next.
